Rev. B.B Olowodola...Career

Rev B.B Olowodola is a far sighted, industrious and committed Civil Servant, who has enjoyed systematic preparation from the cradle in Civil Service to assume higher responsibilities at the peak of his career, since he joined the ministry in 1980.

As a young officer, he was appointed as Secretary to the Tribunal of Inquiry into the financial Management of the Ajaokuta Steel Company Ltd. The Report of that Inquiry was received in the public glare of Nigeria media.

Being a value added person, he served as a Director on the Board of Electricity Meter Manufacturing Company of Nigeria (EMCON) and acquired tremendous experience in public/private partnership as far back as 1984.
He participated actively in the work of the National Public Service Negotiation Council over a decade. He was Secretary to National Council on Establishment Committee on Review of Schemes of Service (1989 Edition).
His experience as Secretary to the Implementation Committee on the white paper on Cocoa Export Levy on Cocoa Buffer Stock Funds in 2001 brought him into extensive contact with the key private and public sector players of that sector.

His work at Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2003, widened his horizon and expanded his breath of vision.

He served from 2003-2007 as Special Assistant to the Minister of Health, whose main agenda was the health sector reform. Apart from several Permanent Secretaries that worked with him, He was the senior midwife of the Health Sector Reform. This position exposed him to vagaries of policy formulation, implementation and monitoring. Till retirement he serves as a director in the Ministry of Defence.
